“Ironically-Priced” Superstar Heads ” Featured GEO’s”
Of course, we understand that standard Extended Protocol is to lock up anything even mildly good in our inventory, announce it ten weeks in advance and then let them rot in a bargain bin while domainers pick away.
No thanks – we’ll sling out Reserve.com at ‘No Reserve’ instead. And you thought Ad.com was a deal? Or how about owning the whole country for far less?
Truth is we decided to release our full inventory in three phases – giving us the ability to promote and market each name, in each phase accordingly. All names are given 100% due effort, each one gets its moment in the sun – from A to Twitter.
And during each phase, any and all remaining names are given fresh eyes, perhaps fresh interest from someone who missed the small, live window.
And so we are happy to break protocol (again) and announce that we have indeed saved or ‘reserved‘ the best names for last: one-of-a-kind Reserve.com
So first came the Catalog, then the Showcase, now our soon-to-be-famous or infamous Featured GEO-Domains (22) – including six new cities and a slew of other No Reserve generics:
Open lots will begin to close at 12pm PDT on May 5th in alphabetical order – get your proxy bids in now and then join us for the conclusion of our GEO-a-thon. Bid NOW at the GeoDomain Auction online!
DN Journal has closing day photos and highlights from the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Silicon Valley conference including a snapshot of Skenzo/Directi Co-Founder Divyank Turakhia at the moment he won Ad.com for $1.4 million in Moniker's live domain auction.
I’m off to Valencia today for a small but I’m sure worthy meeting of domainers in Spain. I’m looking forward to meeting new people and relaxing a bit.
While we are still pushing our extended auction and will be working through the nights closing deals on the remaining names from the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. show in Santa Clara [...]
The Live Moniker TRAFFIC auction just concluded with a total of $2.1 Million dollars in sales.
The domain Ad.com, lead the pack selling for $1.4 Million, after having a reserve range of just $250K-$500K.
It appears the domain was purchased by Directi.
The next highest priced domain sale was bottledwater.com, for $45K, Athletic.com came in at $40K, and then Vixen.com at $32K.
In all 90 domains sold, or just under 50%, a great sell through rate, in a bad economy.
As I have said all along there is a difference in auction houses and we congratulate Monte and his team at Moniker for a very good sale in a bad economy.
Any domain that did not sell in the live auction, will go to the extended auction which concludes next week, along with over 5,000 other domains.
DN Journal has photos and highlights from the first full day of business at the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Silicon Valley conference where Ad.com sold for $1.4 million today in Moniker's live domain auction. The show also sported a fresh new look in its opening session Tuesday.
The domain name Ad.com sold at the TRAFFIC auction tonight for $1.4 Million. The winning bidder seen on the video feed and reported by people at the show was Divyank Turakhia of Directi.com.
