Mike Cohen Announces His Latest Startup: Reputation Destroyer

April 1st, 2011 Comments off

Please note that the following is a parody intended for April Fools day 2011.

Mike Cohen, through a press release, introduced his latest project Reputation Destroyer.  A company that will provide the service of bad mouthing, demeaning, and belittling your competition, enemies, or old girlfriends.

Using the power of the Internet, Cohen and his new company will provide you the ability to rank first on Google for anything negative you’d like to have posted about your new enemy.  Want them to suck? Done.  Want them to appear to hire illegal 12 year Vietnamese girls to sort mail at the office? Done.  Perhaps you want to spread a rumor that this person was an inside shill bidder or unethically looked at the who behind the whois.  They already proved they could do it in their beta testing.

Cohen is the man with an incredibly long history of success on the Internet.  He has been making things happen on the web for over 8 years.  Whether it be porn traffic monetization, mini site development, or blogging, he’s seen two Presidents come and go during the building of his empire.

Cohen and his company WannaDevelop, initially offered two free trials of his service and they were quickly snapped up.  The first two users chose Rob Monster/ Epik, and Chef Patrick, as the reputations to be destroyed.  The first two customers seem pretty happy with his work and are pleased with the results.  As a bonus to his first customer, Cohen will be throwing in for free a nice little story about the impending “100% Guarantee Claims” against Epik that are due to be paid out.

Reputation Destroyer will be coming out of Beta today he will be only taking 10 customers per week in order to concentrate on the “crushing of each reputation”.  A premium service will also be offered in time that will enable the person whose reputation is being damaged to pay double the rate and Cohen will pretend he never received the initial email.

As an added bonus, all of our readers who use the code COHENISNOTMYREALNAME will receive a free “Charlie Sheen is a Bitch” t-shirt with a completed transaction.

Source Claims Schwartz and Ruddell Feud Biggest Stunt Yet

April 1st, 2011 Comments off

Please note that the following is a parody intended for April Fools day 2011.

DNN has received an insider tip from a Miami Beach domainer who informs us that he has spotted Chef Patrick and Rick Schwartz together enjoying dinner with Alina Schwartz, Howard and Barbara Neu, Ray Dillman, and an unidentified young male.  Photographs sent from our sources mobile phone are a bit blurry but by the looks of it Chef (in green on the right next to the male in pink pants) and Schwartz (at the head of the table) seem to be enjoying a dinner together.  Smiles all around.  Our source says there was lots of “laughing and high-fiving.”

The most revealing part is our source claims to have overheard the 2 conference organizers plotting and scheming.  “They were talking about what they were going to do next and how they really pulled one over on everyone”   You have to hand it to Ruddell and Schwartz, these guys really know how to get people talking about them.  Their recent feud over Ruddell’s reported breach of whois privacy has garnered hundreds of comments on their respective blogs and drawn attention to both men.  As they say “There’s no such thing as bad press” . . . fake press, well that’s a different story.

April 23rd, 2010 Comments off

Just in time for today’s drop, Jason Cupp and Patrick Ruddell have just relaunched the website. After some beta-testing, the site introduces a premium membership today for the monthly rate of $19.97 per month. A free membership remains available as well, but limits access to lists of .com & .net domains, whereas the paid membership includes access to .org, .us, .info, .biz, .me, .tv and .ca lists as well. The site operators are planning to add more TLDs to the service. Paying members also see additional data (search volume, search results, CPC, estimated value of the domain etc).

The site monitors the state of the domains and offers a daily live chat during from 2pm to 3pm ET during the COM & NET drop. While GoDrops does not register the names for you, it will help you to find the right names to try to register during the drop.

See the full press release after the jump.

The Much Anticipated Re-launch of Has Finally Come To Fruition

April 23, 2010 – It was announced several months ago the site was going to get an overhaul. The construction work is complete and is ready for its re-release. A partnership formed between Jason Cupp of and Patrick Ruddell of has come together to create a new and improved version of the site.

In 1998, frustrated with his inability to land any generic .com’s, Jason created a script that helped him track names that were dropping, giving him a list to choose from. At some point he decided to publish this list, which is where the idea for came from. He successfully ran the site since, but in late 2009 realized it needed help monetizing and marketing. This is when he partnered up with Chef Patrick who has shared some of his creative ideas and input, redeveloping what is the all new

Patrick offered a little insight saying, “Jason created something really solid with GoDrops. This is a great service that domainers can use to get an edge, giving them an opportunity to snag some great names that might not have been available to them otherwise.”

One of the major changes with the re-release is a membership program. It costs $19.97 per month to join giving its members daily access to the hand selected pending delete domain names list. In addition, paid members have access to domain stats, such as value, age, CPC, searches and frequency. Paying members will have access to drop data 24 hours in advance and 5 days in arrears. Previously members had to come to the site between 2-3pm EST only in order to have access to any drop lists during the live chat session. There will also be a members only forum available for questions, comments and conversations.

With the re-launch came more extensions. There will be nine extensions available to start – .com, .net, .org, .us, .info, .biz, .me, .tv and .ca. More extensions will be added monthly.

A great feature that remains is the live chat session. This is the only site offering this feature in conjunction with the release of the drop list live. It adds a fun social aspect to the service.

There is still a free service available for non-paying members. Those individuals will continue to have access to only the .com and .net lists without the extra benefits the paid members get and only as the drop is happening. The live drop and chat session runs from 2pm EST to 3pm EST.

The GoDrops team would like to send out a BIG thank you to for providing all the raw drop data and discounts for GoDrops members and also for providing the statistical data.
