DomainSalesApp.com
We have a special guest this episode, Simon Johnson from DomainSalesApp.com talking about his great new iPhone app for looking up domain sales history.

I have been using this app for a few weeks now and love it, it just makes my life that much easier due to the speed and simplicity of how it checks for sales history.

This is a free tool so go to iTunes or the DomainSalesApp.com website and give it a try, I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Marc Ostrofsky - Get Rich Click
This episode of Domain Names Podcast I speak with Marc Ostrofsky the author of Get Rich Click The Ultimate Guide to Making Money on the Internet.

Here is a piece about Marc from his website -

Marc Ostrofsky knows how to make money!

He is the entrepreneur’s entrepreneur and a venture capitalist. He has founded, built up and sold over $100 million in businesses – starting with only a $5,000 car loan.

He is well known for his record sale of the domain name Business.com for $7.5 million which landed him in the Guiness Book of World RecordsTM as the most expensive domain name ever sold. Business.com was sold again in 2008 for $345 Million which landed Ostrofsky another windfall.

Marc says, “If you can click a mouse, you can make money on the internet.”

Optometrist.com.au picked up by TheEyePractice.com.au

Optometrist.com.au
I am happy to announce that with my help, one of my best clients The Eye Practice based in Sydney Australia was successful in picking up the domain name Optometrist.com.au from the drops this week.

This is a major win for this business that is a smaller company competing against the larger ones such as OPSM, Spec Savers etc. As it happens, it appears that Spec Savers were the previous owners of Optometrist.com.au.

So congrats to the folks over at The Eye Practice.

2011 Plans for OzDomainer Domain Development & Podcasts

December 29th, 2010 Comments off

OzDomainer 2011 TargetWell 2010 was a very exciting year with many new projects undertaken but the main focus for 2011 will be development of many of the domains my company acquired over the past 3 or 4 years.

A focus on my ccTLD domains mainly in my home country of Australia will take up most of my attention & time.

Here are some of the domains that we will be working on in 2011 -

AudioBooks.com.au, Cardboard.com.au, DslrCameras.com.au, SlrDigitalCamera.com.au & SlrDigitalCameras.com.au, ElectronicDrums.com.au, GpsSoftware.com.au, LedDownlights.com & .com.au, LiquorLicensing.com.au, MiningJobs.net.au & MiningJobsAustralia.com & .com.au, Forex-Trading.com.au, StepLadders.com.au, SuperchargerKits.com.au & ShortCourse.com.au.

So there is enough there to keep my developers busy for 2011 and beyond. I will be keeping you up to date on how these sites are going over the new year and will be happy to accept any constructive criticism and feedback on how they can be improved.

In regards to the podcasts on this site, I will be stepping that up with a target of at least one new podcast every fortnight with a wide range of people in the web industry not just domainers but anything and anyone that is related to developing a successful domain name including Web Development, Content Management Systems,  SEO, Pay Per Click Advertising, Social Media, Content Writing, Business Development & Management, Website Images, Graphic Design and a whole lot more. If you have any particular subject you would like to learn about and hear from experts on the subject, please drop me a line and let me know and I will do my best to accommodate you.

I would just like to thank  all of you who have been guests on my podcast as without you guys it would not be anywhere near as interesting! Also a big thanks to all those who have been reading and listening to my blog / podcast over 2010, I apreciate your support. It is hard to believe that this site will have been running for 4 years come July 2011 so there will be some celebrating going on then I can assure you.

I wish you all a very Happy New Years and very prosperous 2011!

Cheers

Bunnings lets Hardware.com.au expire.

December 15th, 2010 Comments off

A few days ago Bunnings Hardware (Australia’s largest hardware store chain) let Hardware.com.au expire and it was picked up by their rivals Woolworths for $33K from Drop.com.au.

As far as I am concerned, Woolworths picked it up for a song!! It sounds like they intend to take on Bunnings in a pretty big way so it will be interesting to see how they go about it.

Owning the single word category killer domain name should help a to get them going.
