Marchex operated a domain parking program through their MDNH subsidary  by the name of Marchex Sitebox. The program started in 2006 and is now being shut down as of May 1st, 2012 according to an email sent out today by the company. The website has not been updated at this time, however the application to join the program links to an error page.

See the full email after the jump.

Dear Affiliate,

This email refers to the Domain Parking Program Term Sheet as currently in effect between you and MDNH. MDNH has decided to discontinue its Domain Parking Program and hereby exercises its right not to renew the Term Sheet. Accordingly, the Agreement between you and MDNH will terminate at the end of the current renewal month.

The Domain Parking Program will no longer be available as of 5/1.  We suggest moving your domains at your earliest convenience to prevent any disruption.

We thank you for your business and wish you the best.

The MDNH Team

Marchex lists their domains for sale

September 16th, 2009 Comments off

An anonymous tipster pointed us to the recently updated MDNHInc. website, which is the company that holds Marchex’s (MCHX) domain portfolio, pointing out that they now accept offers on domain names in their portfolio. The names listed for sale seem to include names from the orignal purchase of the Yun Ye (Ultimate Search) domain portfolio, which Marchex purchased for 164 Million USD in 2005. With this move Marchex joins the ranks of Oversee.net, Kevin Ham’s Reinvent and Frank Schilling’s Name Administration who have also started offering their domains for sale.
