Polish Registry Loses $4.5 Million In FOREX Investments
NASK, the registry operator for Poland’s .PL top-level domain, has lost up to 14 million zloty ($4.5 million USD) on failed FOREX futures investments.
And according to a Polish news agency, this is also a potential case of fraud as NASK is a public entity and therefore lost taxpayers’ money.
“I am shocked that such an important institution not only has lost huge money, but also did so seriously violating the law,” said Barbara Kudrycka, Poland’s Science and Higher Education Minister, in a translated message.
NASK director Maciej Kozlowski was fired by Kudrycka over the scandal while former NASK Research Director, Krzysztof Malinowski, took over on July 1, 2009.
